Brickcity RC club and Speedway will have it's official beginning
this Saturday at 9:30 AM in the church parking lot. This will be
informational and test and tune day for some of the drivers. If you're
interested in having some real fun and meeting new peeps then come on
out. Below are some pics of a few of the cars we'll be running at the
track. If you want more information about where to get a car we will
help you on Saturday or you can email me and I'll give you the rundown
on all you need to get started.
Losi Slider sprint cars. come with everything you need for a retail
price of $180.00. You can find them on ebay cheaper and you will want
to upgrade a few things but not much.
This is my Vintage Touring Car, 1968 Camaro. This car rocks! It is
a
Team Associated TC3 with an aftermarket chassis and all of the goodies
that make it cool; carbon fiber, aluminum parts, brushless motor and
LiPo battery. This is an older car and you can pick up a bare chassis
off of ebay for under $100.00 but there will be a couple hundred more
in upgrades needed. I'm trying to put together some cars so that
everybody can get the highest competition vehicle possible with the
lowest amount of investment.
Here's a shot of the chassis with all of the electronics. Cool huh?
This
is my oval car. Now this is for the big boys, and you will fork out
some bucks. You can find stuff cheap but by the time you're done you
will have between $375 and $600 invested in just the car. Fortunately
the electronics for the Touring car and the oval car can be exchanged
if you're running the same class, so there is some sharing that can be
done. This is a highly precise machine and takes real talent to wrench
it and drive it to the winners stand. Speed for both the touring car
and the oval can reach upwards of 40 to 50 miles an hour actual speed
not scale speed.
Here's a pic of my oval chassis. This chassis is carbon fiber with
milled aluminum parts and high grade electronics. AWESOME!!!!! I just
ordered two different chassis and I'm getting ready to build this
seasons caret oval cars. If you're interested I can help you with this
as well.
This hobby is challenging and a lot of
fun. There are classes in all price ranges so don't run out to Radio
Shack and by a car! You will really be disappointed.
